"Well not to many people agree with it. Most of the time it doesn't even end well." the king said as he guests started to leave. When everyone was gone he looked down at Archon. "I know that you are attracted to Astrid but there is something that you don't know. She is going to be going back to her own town soon. Her father asked me to raise her as a servant and teach her everything she needs to run a kingdom. But you are not allowed to tell her. She can't know till the king comes back for her. She is spoken for. She is marrying a prince of another kingdom. So it doesn't matter if you love her or not. One day she will be gone." he explained.
Astrid slowly took off her cloths as more tears slipped down her cheeks. "This sucks. This sucks so much... Why do I have to like him..." she cried softly as she climbed into bed. She grabbed one of her pillows and ended up crying herself to sleep.

"Thought so," he responded before making his way back to the exit of the ballroom.
He had to keep his manners. He needed to thank them all for coming and to say farewell unless one of them might get offended. he didn't want to make life any more difficult for his new father because he was distracted by love. He knew that he loved her and that was enough reason to give it a try under normal circumstances. He had to hide his feelings and smile for now though even though he was enfuriated that the king and Astrid's real father were keeping such a secret from her. She didn't even know that she was royalty. She deserved to know about her status at the very least.

Astrid had a hard time sleeping that night. She kept having these strange dreams and was rather upset about what had happened that day. She lifted her hand off the bed and ran it through her hair before letting her arm rest over her eyes. She wasn't sure what was wrong with her. She had to keep a clear head. She knew she had to work tomorrow but at the same time she just wanted to stay in bed all day. With a soft sigh she laid her hands on the bed and pushed herself up with her elbows. She pushed the blankets off of her body and slid of the bed. She made her way across the room and took her robe off of the chair. She put it around her body before she walked to the window. She opened it before she stepped out onto the balcony. "Its so nice out here..." she said listening to the night life go about. She crossed her arms on the railing before she laid her head down. "This just blows..." she said with a whimper.

After the last guest finally left and was gone, Archon approached the king with a bow.
"Apologies your highness but I'm feeling rather drained. I think I shall retire for the evening if you wouldn't mind?"
The king smiled down at him as he stood from the throne.
"Of course m'boy. Sleep well. Tomorrow we begin your tutoring in how to rule a kingdom. You get to watch the old man work."
Archon feigned a smile at his fathers excitement.
"Sounds like fun your highness. Can't wait. Good night."
With another bow Archon left and went to his room. He collapsed on the bed without even taking a bath. He was too upset with what had happened between himself and Astrid. And how his father responded. His "father" was more interested in politics and old traditions than he was about his own son's happiness. Astrid and he liked each other a lot. That didn't mean anything to the king and his friends and the other nobles. It was infuriating to Archon. He'd rather go back to being a peasant again and marry Astrid thinking she was as well.
