"Even if what you say about the house is true it doesn't mean I'll believe the rest of your story monster."
"Then you're beyond hope in my book of ever having an IQ above room temperature," Kyo replied.
Tsuko grew even more flustered but instead of attacking Kyo again, he stomped off to verify the information Kyo had given him.
As Kyo waited in his cell, Tsuko checked the information that Kyo had stated. It checked out. The tow of them ahd been living together for around a year in the house that used to be registered to a woman who had a clean record.
"Was he telling the truth? Could such a clean cut lady be a demoness?" Tsuko thought to himself.
Before he could even return to question Kyo further, he was handed a report demanding the release of Hikaru and Kyo. He sought out his supervisor to find out why.
"While we've had him locked up here we've received an increased amount of reports of non-human attacks. We've received sucha public outcry that it would be suicidal for us to detain him any longer. Ont op of that we've not been able to make any progress with the girl." Then teh commander noticed the expression on Tsuko's face. "What have you discovered?"
"The monster was telling me about important information and I simply verified it to be true. What if all we did by detaining them was endanger those students and traumatize the girl? Not to mention almost kill an innocent?"
"Get a hold of yourself soldier. You forget about whom you speak. He is not human or innocent. We just haven't found the right crime to accuse him of yet."
"Sir? Are you saying you want to make him a scapegoat?"
"Why not? The poeple are afraid of him as they should be. He is a blood sucker capable of turning people into his pawns, or worse, other vampires."
"I cannot stand by and let you destroy the life of an innocent sir. You've gone mad. It's time we release him and use him to fight off the non-humans tha tare actually responsible for these deaths," Tsuko stated. "Guards! Relieve the commander of any and all weapons he is carrying. From now on I am in charge. Put hte commander in one of the holding cells."
The two soldiers who had witnessed the entire scene did as they were told and incarcerated the former commander. They put him in Kyo's cell and dragged Kyo to Tsuko. When they set him down on the floor, Kyo collapsed. Tsuko calmly walked over and bent at the waist to study Kyo closer.
"You told the truth. As such I shall give you some trust. Hikaru and you shall be released on the condition that you take care of these pesky non-humans."
Kyo opened his eyes to gaze up towards Tsuko. He managed only a whisper in response.
"I have no strength to help you," Kyo spoke.
"A situation easily rectified. Bring one of the P.O.W.'s for Kyoshiro to feed."
Just as the guards turned to obey the command, Kyo managed to speak again.
"No...humans. Not allowed," he demanded in a whispering voice.
Tsuko smirked down at Kyo.
"Of course. We would never give you a human victim." Tsuko replied beofre turning to the guards. "Pick one of the non-human P.O.W.'s and cut them somewhere non-fatal. I want to see what happens to him when he smells the blood after such a long starvation period."
Teh guards did as they were told. As soon as Kyo smelled the blood, he went into an uncontrollable frenzy. His eyes turned red, his fangs and claws grew and he leapt to his feet following the scent. As soon as he was on the scene, he leapt and sunk his teeth into the demon's neck. Tsuko had followed and watched in disgust.
"You are truly a monster Kyoshiro. Now that you've fed it's time you fulfill what we require of you. Find and kill those murderous non-humans. Once you do, we'll let Hikaru go freely with you."
Kyo turned towards Tsuko, his eyes changing from red to glow-in-the-dark yellow like a hunting cat's.
"One thing before I go. A lecture for you Tsuko," Kyo stated.
"You wish to lecture me??" Tsuko replied shocked.
"Yeah. There is such a thing as descent non-humans. Sooiner or later you will have to learn that as I did. Also, you better take damn good care of her when I'm gone. No amount of guns or soldiers will be able to protect you and no matter where you run or hide, I will find you."
Kyo gave a fanged grin before disappearing into the shadows. Tsuko stuttered out his next order.
"Make sure the gi...girl is w..well p...p..protected," he commanded.
The guards hurried off to fulfill the comamnd. Meanwhile Tsuko mad ehimself comfortable in the commander's office. Elsewhere, Kyo was making his way to the school. He wouldn't be at full strength until sunset but he needed to hurry and prevent as many deaths as possible. He knew there would be consequences for each life he failed to protect.
He ran full speed until arriving at the school. He walked into the grounds non-chalantly as if he wasn't aware of what was happening. He grabbed his books and entered his classrooms with a smirk. He took his normal seat as everyone stared at him. It was then he noticed the smell of demon. Why hadn't he ever noticed it before? These demons had to be new. As he looked around the room, he noticed which students had gone missing.
"At least I know one of them is in this classroom," he thought to himself.
He stood in the middle of the instructor's lecture and smirked.
"As you all know I'm not human. I know most of you are. What I need is for everyone to line up single file to the door. I have reason to believe there are other non-humans on the premises."
When noone stood he became agitated.
"Do as I say!" he growled, growing angrier. His eyes turned red and his claws and fangs grew. "Now!"
One he yelled, eveyrone jumped at once but he blocked the doorway.
"Singe file line including you teacher, " he demanded.
They did as they were told just in hopes that if they obeyed his demands tha the wouldn't harm them. As each person stepped past, Kyo sniffed each for the scent of demon.
