A week went by and then another. Kyo and Hikaru were both still in captivity. Kyo was being physically abused each day for his sarcastic remarks and because he wouldn't admit to having been behind the disappearances.
Meanwhile back at the school, other students had gone missing after a couple new students enrolled. The government was beginning to take notice since they knew Kyo never left his cage.
When Kyo found out about the disappearances he begged once more to be freed so that he could stop those who were turly behind the kidnappings.
The sergeant simply denied him and believed that the others were simply Kyo's allies and Kyo just wanted to join in on the fun of kidnapping the kids of the town. The more Kyo attempted to explain to the contrary, the more he would be roughed up.
Meanwhile Hikaru was kept in her padded room since the scientists couldn't find a way to break her from being "under the monster's control."
Another week would find evne more students missing. When the reports reached higher up than the sergeant that abused Kyo, the military began questioning whether they should release Kyo and request his assistance.
When Tsuko learned of these reports he decided to pay a visit to the base where Kyo and Hikaru were being held within. He visited Hikaru first until realizing that she hadn't changed at all. He decided to pay Kyo a visit.
"Hello Kyo, if that's your real name," he sat down in front of the cage.
When Kyo saw him he turned away.
"It's your fault. All this suffering for Hikaru as well as I. Oh, and lets not forget about the kids that are no doubt dead by now. Their blood is on your foolish hands," Kyo paused. "Leave me. I have nothing else to say to a back-stabbing coward such as you."
Tsuko looked annoyed. He wasn't as apathetic as the sergeant. It was probably for that reason that he never got promoted.
"Enough of your games. Break your hold on Hikaru or I shall by force!" Tsuko yelled.
"Calm down ya little pain the rear. I have no control over her nor have I used any type of hypnotism or mesmorization on her. I cannot undo something that I haven't done in the first place."
"Still claiming innocence, eh?"
"I will continue until the realization that I speak truth sinks into your thick skull you stupid, good-for-nothing, bakc-stabbing mortal."
As he finished yelling, Kyo fell back to the floor of his cell. Weeks of going without a drop of blood or serum had robbed him of his strength.
"They've been starving you haven't they?" Tsuko questioned, noticing Kyo's weakness.
"What did you think they would do dimwit? Ask me a few questions and send me on my way?"
At those words Tsuko entered the cell, keeping his eyes focused on Kyo the entire time. He approached cautiously before punching Kyo across the jaw. Kyo made no attempt at retaliation. He had no strength to do so.
Tsuko sat atop him, lifted Kyo's head up, and then threw it back down to the hard floor.
Kyo simply looked up at Tsuko after the blow.
"I should have let that jock beat you senseless. I never should have saved you."
"I didn't need your help. I'm a soldier! That stupid idiot would have been easily dealt with. You just happened to come along."
"With the force of your blows now I could tell...you never stood a chance."
Growing angry again Tsuko bellowed "Let her go!" before continuing the pummeling of Kyo. Soon enough though, Tsuko grew too tired to raise his fist.
"So your entire explanation is that there are other monsters out there? Do you really expect anyone to buy that story?"
"You humans...could never comprehend...the true amount of evil...in this world. You fear me because you do not understand me. So... you kill me off. When that happens your little houses and fences ..... will not be able to protect you."
"So now you claim to be humanity's protector? You are a poor liar."
"Hikaru isn't human. Not completely anyway..." Kyo managed to sit himself and prop himself against the wall of his cage. He attempted to catch more breath before continuing.
"Her father is a very powerful demon...Her mother was human...Her father killed her mother when Hikaru was young. She managed to escape but her next refuge was that of a house of a demoness and her daughter."
He paused again to catch more breath.
"In time Hikaru came to look at them as family. The happiness wasn't meant to last though. Hikaru's father found out where she went and sent his henchmen to kill them both. Hikaru managed to escape again but was chased by one of the henchmen. I...saved her before it could filet her. Those henchmen and more like them are the guilty ones' whose crimes you accuse me of."
"You lie! Now you accuse that innocent girl of being a monster like you??" Tsuko managed to state in raised voice.
"Don't interrupt me. I wasn't finished..." Kyo replied. "So there I had saved her. She slept at my parents' house. When we decided to return to the demoness' location in hopes of clothing, the monsters burnt my home to the ground. Luckily we found the demoness' will and one of her friends gave us the house we live in now," Kyo stated. "That brings us up to present day."
"Quie the fabrication monster!" Tsuko replied.
Kyo chuckled which ended with a cough.
"Why are you laughing monster??" Tsuko inquired.
"Because of how block-headed you military goons are, all idiots. All you have to do to see that I speak the truth is to check our school files and check the address given to see the home. Then you can just ask the neighbors if we live there. It's not that hard to figure out."
The two of them breathed heavily on teh floor of the cage until Tsuko managed to rise.
