History: Miaka’s father always was away even when she was little…and after her mother got very sick she developed a hatred for her own father. He came home for several weeks after Miaka’s mother begged him to come and be with her. He obliged but came only because he was translating a Chinese book titled “The Journey of Two” into Japanese. Miaka’s grew angry with him and decided to take the book for a while and she found somewhere to hide it.
One day after school she went by and got the book thinking her father had suffered enough and brought it home with her. Once getting home, however, she was told that her mother had passed away in her sleep…and Miaka’s hatred for her father grew when she learn that, not only had he not been with her when she died, but he held almost no emotion towards her death. Miaka wanted to get even after the funeral arrangements were made. Since he refused to go to the funeral, Miaka came home early and her father had excellent news. He had finished translating the book and he wanted her to read it. Miaka’s hatred boiled up to the surface and she glared, enraged that he could be talking about stories when his own wife had died.
She grabbed the book from him and tried to tear the pages out…but, chillingly enough, they wouldn’t rip. She threw the book down as she screamed in terror. Then…she faded and reappeared upon the pages of the book in a magnificent Priestess robe.
