The sun's rays poured into the quiet bedroom, where a young woman and her exotic lynx slept. A loud alarm went off and the brown haired girl rolled over and slammed her fist onto the defenseless creature. Alas, it was her fourth alarm clock busted in the past week.
"Nooooo! Felyx!" She groaned, sitting up and looking at the lynx at the foot of her bed. A wicked grin spread across her face as she realized her adopted exotic pet was still in deep slumber.
She inhaled and held her breath for a moment as she inched down to put her mouth against his ear. "WAKE UP, FELYX!" She yelled into the wildcat's ear.

The larger than the average house cat, jumped a mile when she yelled into his ear and meowed and hissed simultaneously. He didn't scratch her, recognizing her voice. He landed back on the bed and his back was arched and his claws had dug into the covers to hold on this time so he wouldn't bounce off the bed again.

She giggled happily and reached over, stroking the soft fur on the nape of his neck. "Well, Felyx... its time for me to get ready for school. You stay in here. No peeking while I'm in the shower." She winked and stood from her bed.
She stretched, groaning loudly from the ache in her neck. She knew she shouldn't have stayed up so late studying, but it was getting close to some big tests and she need all the knowledge she could get. She crept to the bathroom and flicked the switch on and preceded with her usual routine of a shower.

After watching her make her way to the bathroom, the wildcat walked in a circle a couple times at the foot of her bed. Once he completed the last circle, he laid down and closed his eyes to take another cat nap. He hoped that he wouldn't be woken again by a heart attack.

After getting out of the shower and drying off, Suki took a good look at herself in the mirror, pondering what to do with her hair today. She wore the oddest hairstyle, according to the girls at school anyway with it being shorter on top in a cropped hairstyle while the bottom was long enough to be braided and past her shoulders. That's how she usually kept it; braided, but she wanted to do something different.
After a good ten minutes of debating, she realized she was going to be late, so she styled it as usual and left the bathroom fully clothed in her school uniform that was still too short. She swore that someone at the board of education was sexist... either that or a huge perv. She couldn't decide which.
"Well I'm off Felyx... don't mess the house up while I'm gone." She smiled sweetly, leaning down and placing a kiss on the cat's head.

The cat meowed after her and stretched on the bed. He jumped off and followed her to the door to see her off. He sat at the doorway and meowed once again with his tail curling left and right, giving her a loving farewell.

She grinned and waved back at him. The brown haired girl walked all the way to the end of her driveway until she got to the sidewalk, then she began sprinting off. Sooner or later she was going to crash from staying up so late at night.
"I... probably look like a zombie." She frowned, slowing to a walk as she got on school grounds. She could almost feel the weight of the stares on her, as usual. It was nothing new, but today it really bothered her. "Maybe it's lack of sleep?" She wondered aloud. She could have sworn she heard someone say 'Or maybe its the fact that you're talking to yourself!'; but she chose to ignore it.

Felyx was loyal to his master but he wasn't going to sit in front of a closed door all day. He turned and walked back to the living room. He jumped onto the couch and curled up next to the remote. He used his paw to hit the power button and stretched out before relaxing and watching the television.

School was harder than usual. The other students were as well. Suki stared at the ground in between her feet as she sat on the swing in the park near the school. Today was Friday, so she would get a break; she hoped anyway. Her school bag was lying on the ground near her feet and she knew she should get back soon or else Felyx would worry.
She stood, grabbing her bag from the ground, and darted off towards her house. She lived alone in a small house her parents rented to her a year ago. She was always on time with the payments due to the small job she did every other week, or as she was needed. But what she really preferred doing was spending time with her lynx, Felyx.

Felyx had fallen asleep on the couch as the news was on. It was always the one thing that could put him to sleep when he found himself too awake to really close his eyes and slip off into unconsciousness. It's not like anything new ever happened in the town anyway so it wasn't like he was going to miss anything.

Suki opened the door calmly and crept into the living room. She laughed when she saw Felyx asleep on the couch with the tv still going. "I swear Felyx, you're going to have to start helping out with the electricity bills around here." She flipped the tv off.
"Mm... Felyx, you act so much like a human... sometimes I have to wonder..." She didn't dare finish that sentence, she knew it would sound crazy.

Felyx's ears perked up and his head followed at the sound of the door. He stretched and yawned after his nap and then sat on the couch. He meowed at her as if to say welcome back and why'd you shut that off but it probably just sounded like a normal meow to her. He didn't mind the fact that he couldn't speak to her since he didn't want anyone to know that he actually was a human beneath all that fur.

She pet his head slowly and sighed. "Well... I should get started on something to eat... Want some tuna, Felyx?" She questioned, standing up and heading for the kitchen. The house was relatively small, so it wasn't but a few steps to get to where she was going.

At those words he gave her a happy meow and jumped off the couch to follow her. He looked up at her as she prepared the fish to eat. He meowed throughout the process. He had a cattish smile on his furry face as he gazed up at her. He knew what was coming.

She could help but laugh at the cat's eagerness. He may be a wild cat, but he'd never harmed her. She turned to the can opener after grabbing a can of the beloved tuna and turned the automatic opener on. She dumped the contents in a cat bowl and laid it in front of Felyx. "Enjoy." She giggled sweetly.
And thus her search began to find herself some food. She reached into the cabinet that usually held her choice food: spaghetti and the like. But she was disappointed when she found nothing. "Eh... I need to go grocery shopping again..." She frowned. She peered into the refrigerator, glad to find a couple of wieners to make hot dogs with.
"Thank God for mom's obsession with hot dogs." She grinned, placing two on a plate and warming them.

Noticing no food in the cabinets, Felyx pushed his bowl towards her and started pawing her leg, making sure that his claws were not extended. He meowed up to her as if to say I'll share but instead only a meow came out. He smiled up at her with that cattish grin.

Feeling the paw on her leg, Suki looked down and giggled sweetly. She knelt down and patted Felyx on the head. "Aw, thanks, Felyx... but I'll be okay. I'll go shopping tomorrow." She whispered to him.
Shopping usually consisted of getting groceries and sometimes renting movies to entertain her and Felyx. She rarely bought any kind of gifts or treats for herself. Suki didn't have any friends in this town and didn't really have any interest in any guy either. So it was just her and Felyx all the time. Sure she was lonely when she had no one to talk to, but she wouldn't trade her life in for anything either.

Felyx enjoyed the contact and attention she was giving. When it was over he began eating the tuna. It was his favorite dish after all. High in protein, low in fat and one of the tastiest fish one can find. It only took him a few minutes to finish the fish she had given him and he meowed with a smile up at her with some fish stuck to his whiskers. His tail curled from side to side and he licked his lips as he smiled up at her.

She laughed at the cat's silly antics. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Felyx." She replied as she ate her own food. She was still mad she had to eat hot dogs, but she had no one to blame but herself. Her shoulders slumped as she ate the last bite and placed her plate in the sink.
She walked to the sofa and fell down on it. "Oh Felyx... maybe we should move." She murmured. She had to laugh at that thought. "No... I don't know, Felyx." She pet him when he came close enough.

He jumped up and landed on her stomach. He didn't have his claws extended so as not to stab her with his talons. The sudden pressure of his weight would force some air out of her though. He did this as revenge for being woken up at the risk of a heart attack earlier today. He smiled at her and laid down on top of her.

"Oof!" She coughed out as the large cat jumped onto her stomach. She frowned playfully, but continued petting the overgrown kitty. She closed her eyes and hummed lightly.
"Whew... Grocery shopping tomorrow, Felyx." She murmured. "I'm glad they didn't give me any homework this weekend. I need to do some cleaning around here."

The large cat meowed in response to her comment. He laid down on top of her and began to purr loudly. He awaited the hand he was accustomed to getting a pet from in situations like this.

She shifted over onto her side, letting the cat onto the sofa next to her instead of on top of her. She propped her head up against her bent arm and sighed.
"Let's see what's on..." She yawned, grabbing the clicker and flipping through the channels on the television.

The cat sat on its hind quarters as if laying on the back cushion of the couch behind her legs. His eyes focused intently on the large screen across the room frome them. He watched the pictures from each channel as his owner flicked through each one.

After finally finding a good horror movie, she set the clicker down on the small coffee table in front of her. She only watched a few minutes of it before drifting off to sleep.
